Armor School Series

The largest project in our Kentucky Memory Series focuses on the Armor School at Fort Knox, Kentucky which was Home of the Armor from 1940 to 2011. The school officially moved to Fort Benning, Georgia as part of the BRAC realignment. These prints were taken July 2010, just weeks before the move began, making this series of Historic Value as you can never take these photos again. Many of the monuments and vehicles were moved.

10 months of research, 47,000+ words, 210 edited prints in five books. This is our largest production to date and our personal contribution to the History of the United States Army and the Armor Branch of the Army and Marine Corps. Detailed history of the machines and their namesakes while highlighting unit and garrison commanders affiliated with the Armor School in its last year of operation at Fort Knox.

The first test print was Book II and donated to the 194th Armor Brigade making the historic move with the Armor School. The first complete set of five books was donated on 11/11/11 (Veterans Day) to the Office of the Commandant, Armor School, Fort Benning and a complete set donated to the Armor Museum at Fort Bliss, TX for their archives.
